The cultural heritage of Bulgaria is one of the most important elements attracting the tourists from all over the world. According to the Cultural Studies Institute, the cultural heritage is the most important element in coming to Bulgaria for almost 40% of the tourists. Bulgaria has 9 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and seven of the 40 thousands historical monuments in Bulgaria, like the ancient city of Nessebar.
Apart from historical monuments, which include 160 monasteries and monastic buildings, or museums and galleries, there are traditional activities to be seen in the visited areas.
