The beach is 8 km long and 30 – 60 m wide. The sand is fine and golden. There are natural sand-dunes along the beach with 16 rare plant species. The sea bottom is plain and the sea is usually calm and clear. The weather is just perfect. This is where the name of the resort came from. There is an Aqua Park [24000m2] in the eastern part of Sunny Beach. There you can find wild rivers, lazy rivers, water playgrounds for children, water castle, bars, restaurants, etc. You can certainly enjoy sports here – you can try surfing, water skiing, parachuting, parachuting behind a motorboat, banana rides, sailing, kayaks, motorboats, beach volleyball, mini golf, horse riding, etc, plus amateur and professional sports competitions.
A festival of Bulgarian music called ‘The Golden Orpheus’ is held here every year. Folk performances, symphonic concerts, exhibitions, the Sunny Beach Miss contest are also organized in Sunny Beach. There is also a theater and outdoor cinema. You can also go on a trip to e.g. Istanbul. There are many facilities such as shopping centers, artistic centers, market places and bazaars with artisanship products and fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy. Moreover, there are buses and boat connections with Bourgas [the city center] [35 km] and Varna [95 km].
